From 8th to 14th of May the students Zheina Abdulaeva, Marc Amparo, Emma Bellan and Ana Isa Mota Del Carmen from 2CHW went to Zagreb with their teachers Edwin Hollauf and Gerda Ogris-Stumpf. They attended Treca Ekonomska Skola Zagreb for one week. They were working with teams from other schools from Croatia, Turkey, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands for the Erasmus-project “Green Power”. Besides discussions and workshops several excursions were part of the program. On Friday all participants were handed a certificate and after that had a farewell party with their newly made friends from all over Europe.
- Getting to know Zagreb – a very green city with many beautiful parks.
- Visiting the zoo in Zagreb – endangered species in the focus of attention
- Trip to the national park Plitvica lakes – how precious landscapes are preserved
- Planting a tree and attaching bee hotels in the schoolyard – our contribution to a greener environment
My experience with Erasmus
My friends and I drove to Zagreb expecting it to be a very cool experience, but it was much more than that. The night we arrived there, our hosts were waiting for us with open arms, they were so nice and warm. We immediately bonded and had nice conversations about how our lives are in Austria.
The other days of the week were just as good as the first night. We went on a tour of the beautiful city of Zagreb, we went to the zoo, to a fantastic national park, we held debates in class and much more.
The best thing about this trip was definitely the friendships we made and the welcoming people we met.

I have no regrets conderning going to Zagreb. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I enjoyed this week, getting to know all the people from different cultures, to make friends and it helped to improve my English. We were taught about environmental issues and discussed them, we also visited beautiful places. But it is not all about school, it is also about connecting to new people and make new friends. I really recommend it to others, it is something you will experience only once, and you should take that chance!!
